United States
The U.S. Military for the third time launched an attack on a boat which resulted in the killing of suspected drug cartel members in the Caribbean Sea. It has been reported that three people were killed as a result of the attack. President Trump said that intelligence had confirmed the vessel was carrying illegal drugs.
Asia
The Taliban is reportedly getting rid of all books that have been written by females in the countryside universities, which are attended only by males. The list of books to be banned was sent out by the Talibans Education Ministry to the country’s universities.
Europe
The UK, Canada, and Australia have announced that they are officially recognizing Palestine as a state. This move is seen to be an attempt to pressure Israel into dealing with the Humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The announcement comes on the eve of the United Nations(UN) General Assembly meeting.
Americas
The Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney arrived in Mexico for talks with the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum. The goal of the meeting was to discuss and strategize how the two countries would deal with President Trumps tariff policy. The two countries discussed ways to increase railway and port capacity.
Africa
Many people were killed while they were praying at a local mosque in El Fasher, Sudan. Paramilitary forces fired a missile into the mosque during morning prayers. It has already been confirmed that around 80 people have been killed as a result of the strike. A doctor who was at the scene said that in the immediate aftermath the situation was dire.
Middle East
The UN and the United States have been in a standoff due to the U.S. announcing it would deny visa requests for the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. The State Department, which is responsible for issuing visas, said they denied the visa request on the ground of National Security.
