United States

A suspect was arrested by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) this past week In relation to the planting of two pipe bombs on January 6, 2021. The suspect was charged with transporting explosive materials across state lines and with attempted destruction of buildings by use of explosives.

Asia

President Putin of Russia visited India to hold talks on energy, defense, and trade. This visit is the first by the Russian leader since he ordered the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. India has continued to do business with India through the war as many western countries have imposed sanctions on Russia.

Europe

Special envoy for President Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with President Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. The meeting lasted for 5 hours and was held in the Kremlin. One of president Putins closest aides, Yuri Ushakov said that the meeting very useful and constructive. However no final peace agreement proposal was agreed upon.

Americas

The former President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández was pardoned by President Trump. Hernandez was sentenced to 45 years in prison in 2022 under the Biden Administration for drug trafficking. President Trump said he looked at the facts and it seems to have been a Biden Administration setup.

Africa

12 people were killed and 25 wounded after gunmen opened fire in a tavern in South Africa. It is reported that three armed assailants are still on the loose. One of the victims was a three year old. This attack is the latest mass shooting which in recent years has become a problem in South Africa. South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world.

Middle East

The leader of a militia in Gaza, backed by Israel was reportedly killed. Yasser Abu Shabab was the leader of a project which brought together people fighting against Hamas in Gaza. Israel reportedly provided weapons to the militia.
