The World Today In Bullets: Cuban Military Opens Fire And Merz Meets With XI

  • The Cuban government said that it had opened fire on a speed boat that entered its territorial waters which resulted in the deaths of four and injuries to six others. Additionally a Cuban commander was wounded. Cuba has claimed that the speedboat opened fire on its soldiers prompting them to respond.

  • President Trumps nominee for surgeon general Dr. Casey Means was questioned today during her confirmation hearing. During the hearing she told the senators that “anti-vaccine rhetoric has never been part of my message”. Her appointment would be unusual for the reason that she does not have an active medical license.

  • German Chancellor, Friederich Merz said his country faces “challenged” in its relationship to China. Furthermore, Merz talked about how cheap imports are undercutting different sectors of industrial part of its economy. These comments come as Prime Minister Merz met with President Xi Jinping of China in Beijing.
