United States
The government shut down has led thousands of government workers not being payed. The earliest the the government will now reopen is next week due to the senate voting as early as Monday and the House announcing it will return on October 14.
Asia
Sanae Takaichi is set to become the new Prime Minister of Japan and the first female in the country history to take the spot. Takaichi has been a strong critic against the expansion of Chinese military power alongside being a supporter for Japan to strengthen its defense capabilities.
Europe
In the UK the police have declared the attack on a synagogue in Manchester a terrorist attack. The attacker, who drove a car into people standing outside, has been identified as Jihad al-Shamie. The police responded to the terrorist incident and shot the attacker dead.
Americas
President Mark Carney has announced he will visit Washington D.C. next week to discuss tariffs alongside the security partnership between the two nations. Some Canadian officials have said that it is possible the U.S. will relax certain tariffs on Canada.
Africa
Three protesters were killed in Morocco following demonstrations against heavy government spending in preparation for the 2030 World Cup. Police said they were acting in self defense when the protester were killed. People in the country are mad due to the fact they feel government spending on public services isn’t enough.
Middle East
Hamas announced that it was ready to release all the remaining hostages and that it was ready to implement Presidents Trumps peace plan. Hamas however did not make it clear in their statement whether or not they will disarm. Israel responded by saying it is ready to implement the first parts of the peace plan.
