The Weekly Report: October 19-26 2025

United States

President Trump announced that he would implement a 10 percent tariff on all goods coming from Canada. On Thursday President Trump announced that he would suspend trade talks with Canada due to an ad. This latest tariff follows months of trade talks between the two countries who have been trying to find a solution to the issue.

Asia

President Trump is set to travel to travel to Asia this week it was announced. President Trump will attend the ASEAN summit where tariffs alongside regional security issues in the Indo-Pacific are set to be discussed.

Europe

President Putin of Russia responded to new sanctions on his nation by the U.S. as “An unfriendly act”. The sanctions targeted Russias two largest oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. These sanctions were the first by the Trump Administration which has been attempting to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Americas

The U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford is heading to the Latin American region. This move comes as the U.S. Military has been building up is presence in the region should President Trump choose to turn to military action against Venezuela. There are already some 10,000 troops stationed in the region at different military bases. The aircraft carrier will be joined by five destroyers.


Africa

Around 46 people were killed in a bus crash in Uganda. Two buses were trying to pass traffic when they collided into each other head on. The crash is one of the deadliest, in terms of casualties, in Uganda in a while. Bus crashes aren’t unusual in Uganda thought due to poor road conditions and little driving training for drivers.

Middle East

Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Israel this past week where he ensured that U.S. Diplomats will work to ensure the peace deal lasts. A new center was set up in Israel where diplomats and military officials will work together to ensuring the longevity of peace in a region that has been in turmoil for the past two years.
