The Weekly Report: October 26-November 2 2025

United States

The Replican Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee , Roger Wicker alongside Jack Reed, the top democrat on the committee sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth requesting information about recent strikes on vessels coming from South America suspected of carrying drugs. Many senators have begun to grow concerned about the Trump Administration's military campaign against vessels suspected of having drugs on board.

Asia

President Trump visited several Asian countries this past week with the trip resulting in the signing of economic agreements with certain countries and a trade deal with China. President Trump signed an agreement with Japan that will ensure a supply chain is established with regards to rare earth minerals, a sector that China has a strangle hold on. The trade deal signed between the U.S. and China resulted in essentially a yearlong truce being called. They agreed to renegotiate the deal each year going forward. The deal included China shipping rare earth metals to the U.S. alongside the purchase of U.S. Soybeans.

Europe

President Putin of Russia announced that his country has successfully tested the Burevestnik missile. The missile is nuclear powered, which allows it to stay airborne for a significantly longer period of time that other missile which carry nuclear warheads. The Kremlin claims that it is capable of avoidoing missile defense systems.

Americas

After the Pentagon announced that one person survived its strike on a vessel in the eastern Pacific, Mexican Authorites have said that they have yet to locate the survivor. The Mexican Navy has however said that it contacted the U.S. Coast Guard saying it could not find the survivor following an in depth search of the area.


Africa

The world’s oldest president, Paul Biya, has won an eight term in office in Cameroon. Biya who is currently 92 would be 99 if he completes his eighth term. This election was his biggest challenge since he first took office in 1982. Many believe that their was widespread fraud in the election.

Middle East

Israel launched strikes on Gaza for the first time since the peace deal was agreed. The strike resulted in the deaths of around 100 people according to health officials in the Gaza Strip. Since the strike, Israel has said that the ceasfire is back on. The strike were in response to Hamas failing to return the bodies of hostages, a requirement of the ceasefire deal.
