The World Today In Ten Bullets:Trump requests resumption of nuclear testing And meets Xi

  • President Trump announced plans to cut the overall tariff rate on China from 57 percent to 47 percent. China as a result has said it would continue exporting rare earth metals to the United States and would start purchasing soybeans from the U.S. again. All of this was agreed upon during a meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping of China.

  • Romania announced that the U.S. will withdraw roughly 700 troops from the country as the U.S. military continues to reevaluate its stationing of troops abroad. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has told European military leaders that the movement of troops away from Europe and towards the Indo-Pacific is a result of the U.S. needing to pay more attention to their defense.

  • President Trump told the Department of Defense that it should begin preparations to resume nuclear weapon testing. This comes as President Vladimir Putin of Russia announced that his country carried out a test of a new nuclear propelled cruise missile that is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
