  • It was announced that a tariff rate of 50 percent will be placed on many goods arriving from India. Earlier in August President Trump announced the rate would be 25 percent, however he has no doubled that figure in an effort to hurt India for buying Russian Oil.

  • A large drone strike was launched from Russia targeting energy infrastructure. The Ukrainian Air Force said it had downed 74 of the 95 drones that were launched.

  • In Minneapolis a gunman opened fire during morning mass at a catholic school which resulted in the deaths of two children and injuring 17 others. The shooter took his own life at the scene. The motive still remains unclear.

  • The cabinet in Germany passed a draft bill which would see the creation of a voluntary military service scheme. Additionally a clause is included in the bill which would allow the parliament to reinstate mandatory military conscription.

  • Alligator Alcatraz, the detention center housing immigrants, is most likely going to be shut down with in a few days according to Kevin Guthrie, the director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

  • The Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that the department would move to complete a full takeover of Union Station in Washington DC. He believes that if the station comes under the departments control, they will be able to bring in more tenants.

  • Denmark summoned the U.S. ambassador following allegations that 3 U.S. citizens were engaging in “covert influence operations” in Greenland. These allegations came after U.S. intelligence agencies were reportedly ramping up intelligence operations in Greenland.

  • The United Nations(UN) has said that the recent bombing of a hospital in Gaza should be investigated by Israel under its series of unlawful killing investigations. Nasser Hospital was hit on two different occasions on Monday.

  • Israeli protesters were seen protesting for a ceasefire deal and the release of all the remaining hostages.

  • 20 FEMA employees were placed on leave following a letter by them protesting the Trump Administrations disaster preparedness.
